Limestone Mourns The Loss Of Student Tre'Don "Dex" McNeil

优蜜传媒 is deeply saddened to learn of the sudden passing of one of its students, Tre鈥橠on Andre McNeil, and extends its deepest condolences to his family, friends, teammates, and coaches.

A native of North Charleston, McNeil 鈥� known as 鈥淒ex鈥� by many of his family and friends 鈥� passed away at an off-campus apartment complex on Sunday, Sept. 4. He was a transfer from St. Andrews University and was a member of the Limestone dance team, often in the role of Limestone鈥檚 mascot 鈥淏ernie鈥� the Saint Bernard. The 21-year-old was awaiting NCAA clearance to join the Saints football team.

鈥淭his is a tragic loss of one of our Saints,鈥� said Mike Cerino, Limestone鈥檚 Vice President for Intercollegiate Athletics. 鈥淚 know I speak for head dance coach Keasha Currence and head football coach Mike Furrey when I say that Tre鈥橠on was a well-respected young man who will be deeply missed. He was waiting for his opportunity to join our football team and stayed close to the program by supporting his teammates on the sidelines as a member of the dance team, portraying our mascot 鈥楤ernie鈥� multiple times. He was everything that Limestone looks for in a student and as a teammate. We have been in close contact with Tre鈥橠on鈥檚 family since his passing, and we have conveyed to them the heartfelt condolences from our campus community. We ask that everyone keep them in your thoughts now and in the days ahead as we mourn his passing and celebrate his life.鈥�

FUNERAL ARRAGEMENTS:

The public viewing will be Friday, Sept. 9, from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. at Canaan Missionary Baptist Church, 1561 Mosstree Road, North Charleston, SC 29405

The Home-Going Celebration will be Saturday, Sept. 10, at 11 a.m. at the same location.

Interment will follow the Home-Going Celebration at Riverview Memorial Park, 3715 Azalea Drive, North Charleston, SC 29405.
