Finance Professor Dr. Renee Dyer Captures "Best Paper Award" At Conference

优蜜传媒 Professor of Business Finance Dr. Renee Dyer recently won the 鈥淏est Paper Award鈥� at the Academy of Business Research (ABR) online conference.

Her winning presentation at the August conference was titled 鈥淔inancial Strategies for Long-Term Success in Women-Owned Small Businesses.鈥�

Dyer鈥檚 research was conducted on 11 female small business owners in Cleveland County, NC, who had been in business beyond five years. In her presentation, Dyer expressed that female entrepreneurs often have difficulty in funding their small businesses to remain viable long term. The study participants shared how they overcame obstacles many women face to be successful.

鈥淭he study participants were passionate about their businesses, and it was important to have the opportunity to discuss their accomplishments at the conference,鈥� Dyer explained. 鈥淟earning long-term financial strategies is crucial to the success of female small business owners. This success then leads to stronger local economies.鈥�

An international society, the ABR is a community of scholars and practitioners who exchange ideas and collaborate in a conference setting. In the last decade, ABR has had participants from all 50 states and 49 different countries.

Dyer has taught Finance at Limestone since 2017 and has been an instructor in higher education since 2008. She received her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Gardner-Webb University, Master of Business Administration in Finance from East Carolina University, and Doctor of Business Administration in Finance from Walden University.
